Today, I embarked on a mini road trip to Spring Valley Reservoir near Troy, Idaho. To get there, take Highway 8 east from Moscow, Id to Troy, and turn left at the recreation sign. You’ll go past cute little farms (yes, I stopped to pet the llamas), camp grounds, and many picnic spots! There is a trail that loops the entire trail located at the west end of the lake, with an output at the east end as well. The reservoir is stocked, so it would be a perfect spot for a serene winter ice fishing getaway. Possibilities for camping and picnicking on the tree-filled hills are endless- (they even have fire pits for s’mores)!
