Hey there, for the most part, this blog is to keep our family and friends up-to-date on our adventures, but if you stumbled upon us then— Greetings from the Lampman Family! I (Liv) started this blog back in late high school to try and keep track of all of my hikes (I far from did that…but at least it got me rollin’)! It has slowly morphed into a conglomeration of daily life/adventures/ photography/ trip reports.
Life looks a little different now, compared to when I first started this blog, with my family also being a huge part of my outdoor experiences- Periwinkle (the kitten), Pinon Bear (the akita/bulldog/husky mutt), Goose Berry(the German shepherd/husky), Basil Wilder (our sweet son) and Phin (the other human/ my wonderful husband).
We love all thing outdoorsy, and travel the country in our 2005 4 season camper named Nash. We both work remotely, but our current “basecamp” is in northern Idaho.
Some of our favorite things include: Frozen thin mints, cozy nights around the campfire, hashbrowns cooked on the cast iron (with lots of veggies), long dog walks on summer nights, watching a comedy over takeout Indian food, nerding out over science-y podcasts, and opening the tent door to beautiful alpine lakes!

From getting married in the Colorado Rockies to both of us fighting wildfires across the country, being outside has always been a huge part of who we are.
We both aren’t afraid of a challenge in the slightest, which makes us a really great team.
From hiking 600 miles of the PCT in a little over a month, to building my own tiny home from scratch, I know I can truly do anything I set my mind to.
Phin, is currently doing ground-breaking research that is changing wildfire science and on top of that excels at just about every sport he tries (really, so rough when you are as competitive as I am)!
This is our story… filled with laughter, perseverance, big mountains, silly happenings, spelling mistakes, and lots of dog pictures.
Oh, and a baby boy who is strapped along for a wild ride!
Enjoy!
