Stack Rock- Freddy’s Trail (7 mi)

As fall approaches, Stack Rock becomes even more desirable to the hikers of Boise. Being only a 30 minute drive from the heart of downtown, Stack is an awesome hike, with an even better view. Many of the locals choose to stay on the main trail, but if you go to the left at the fork (towards Freddy’s Trail) you will be amazed with 7 miles of forested trail. Once you get to the actual Stack Rock, don’t just take a photo and leave. If you are physically able, I definitely recommend climbing up to the top! Some upper body strength is mandatory, and slight bouldering experience if you want to go up the steeper side. Its a guaranteed rush, a spectacular view of Boise, and a great workout!

P.S.

Be sure to bring plenty of water- the hike is long and more strenuous than it appears.
