Pacific Crest Trail: Gear List

Buying gear… it’s so addicting, but it does hurt your pockets! As an avid outdoors(wo)man, I am always trying to purchase gear that lasts a long time, is worth my money, and has a minimal impact on the planet. I have been backpacking quite a bit, but had to upgrade a lot of my items for the PCT so I don’t break my back. My list breaks down weight, cost, and performance (will update at the end of my hike)! Below are images of my gear & hiking outfit, the link to my gear list, and a book recommendation for all the outdoor enthusiasts and sustainable living enthusiasts!

…& one of my all time favorite books by Patagonia’s founder, Yvon Chouinard: Let my People Go Surfing

nearly everything that will be (on) my body & what i’ll be (carrying)

i am still working out the kinks & need to figure out how to make this all fit more compactly! i’ve been walking the dogs with my pack everyday- tested out my new sunnies today!

Fun fact: my green sleeping pad folds out to say “hiker to trail” on one side and “hiker to town” on the other !
